Patrick White
As Director of Federal Relations with the Association of American Universities, Patrick White is responsible for the development and implementation of the federal relations strategy of the association staff who serve the presidents and chancellors of AAU's 62 public and private research universities. Mr. White is also responsible specifically for health research and financing issues, and shares responsibility for indirect costs and other research issues, including merit review, conflict of interest, technology transfer, human subjects protections, use of animals in research, etc.
Prior to joining AAU in December of 2003, Mr. White served as Director of Legislative Relations for the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology , (2000-03), Director of Public Affairs for the American Association of Immunologists (1993-2000), External Affairs Officer Presidential Science Advisor D. Allan Bromley (1992-93), and Chief of Staff for Congressman Robert W. Davis (1989-92). Mr. White holds a BA in English and Philosophy from Georgetown University (1982) and a Master's in International Transactions from George Mason University (1996).
